How the line method can help you

If you are struggling to meet your health and wellness goals, one of our personal trainers can help.

Is The Line Method Approach to Personal Training Right for You?

At The Line Method, we focus on creating workouts using a full-body holistic approach that cuts across multiple fitness disciplines.  Our number one goal is our clients’ goals, but most often, we help our clients overcome movement limitations to feel better in their bodies and enjoy more of the activities, routines and hobbies they love.

A session with a Line Method instructor could include strength exercises, stretching, Pilates, and more all in one session.  While every fitness plan is different, you will generally find these four elements in most of our sessions:

  • Pilates for strength and balance
  • Stretching for flexibility and easy movement
  • Weight-lifting for building strength
  • Restorative exercises to regain strength and mobility

Together, we believe these disciplines, with the right exercises and proper form, can help you move better, improve your health, and live better.

We are committed to helping you be your best self and discover your body’s unique strengths.  Our personal trainers in Washington, DC are fun, energetic, and empathetic.  If you want to feel amazing in your own body, a personal trainer at The Line Method could be a good match for you.  Contact us today to learn more.

What to Expect from Personal Training at our studio

A good personal trainer will take the time to get to know you, your fitness goals, what you like and dislike about working out, and what motivates you. That’s why we complete a 30 minute complimentary phone consultation prior to your first session.

This consultation will include questions about your lifestyle, habits, diet, motivators, and even stress and anxiety levels.  The more a personal trainer understands you and your lifestyle, the more effective they will be in creating a plan that will help you reach your goals.

Our instructors will personalize a fitness plan that includes:

  • Cardiovascular exercise (cardio)
  • Strength training
  • Core training, including Pilates
  • Stretching exercises, including yoga
  • Mobility exercises
  • Nutrition and healthy eating guidance
  • Breathing, meditation, and stress reduction techniques

The Line Method trainers will assess your current activity level to understand what has been working and what has not. They will use their expertise to introduce new types of exercises and activities that will produce more meaningful results for you. Often, a cross-disciplinary approach incorporating multiple types of exercises can help you achieve your goals faster.

Not sure which option is right for you? Maybe you want a more individualized approach?

An individual session could include:

  • Teaching new exercises
  • Supervising completion of the exercises
  • Providing guidance and coaching on form as needed
  • Adjusting a fitness plan if certain exercises cause pain, discomfort, or are beyond your abilities
  • Assessing and modifying a fitness plan, including updating goals as progress is made
  • Educating clients on overall wellness, including nutrition and stress

Personal trainers should provide motivation and accountability, in addition to a customized workout.  The importance of proper form cannot be overstated.  Many people struggle to achieve their goals when they are not performing exercises correctly.  This can be difficult to determine on your own, and is a great advantage of leveraging a fitness professional, especially if you are recovering from an injury or have any type of pain.

So, how do you find a personal trainer that is a good fit for you?

It starts with understanding what you need from a personal trainer.

Exercising, losing weight, increasing mobility, and reaching any number of fitness goals can be tough. We all get busy, and sometimes it’s easy to put off a workout, training sessions, or grab fast-food when you don’t feel like cooking. And when you do find the time and motivation to work out, you may not know what or how you should be doing exercise, and you may quickly become frustrated when you are not seeing the results you wanted.

Personal training is designed to overcome these obstacles by creating a personalized fitness plan based on your unique health and fitness goals.
